Is it boring to have a routine? To like cause & effect.... If I do ____, I will get ______.
Not at all! I don't think being consistent is BORING.
However, I want to highlight my differences. I want to elevate the special gifts & passions & strengths I have... I believe we were each given unique quirks so we can USE THEM to help people. I 100% believe God made each of us super unique and special. Our responsibility -- CORRECTION -- our obligation is to use those quirks and passions to make the world a better place.
I think it would be selfish to hide them under a shell and bland safe life. So, let's now be BORING. Let's let loose and celebrate each other's uniqueness.
In the midst of creating routine and repeating my daily grind, I don't want that to be mistaken for COASTING. There is no coasting in life. You are either moving forward or backwards.
WHY?
(1) When you are fascinating, people like to be around you. When people like to be around you it feels good.
(2) You have one life to live. You don't have to change to be more fascinating, you just have to be more YOU.
HOW?
(1) At some point, we were told to "grow up" & sit down to accept the status quo. That dreams are 99% impossible so we might as well settle for an okay life.
(2) At some point, we stopped believing we were good enough to have our dream job. PEOPLE -- we gotta dig that back up. If you wanted to be a Broadway Star (ahem, I did), it might not be that you can stop everything you are doing right now, move to New York and spend the next 35 years trying to make it... but look at the service and feelings you were searching for by pursuing that dream job. For me, I wanted to be a Broadway Star. What the what???
Mind you, I can not sing or act. The cards were NOT in my favor. However, this desire tells me that I crave performance. I enjoy expressing myself through words and dance. I enjoy bringing out EMOTION in people. Perhaps even inspiration. Music and theater MOVES ME... so I'd want to give that back and MOVE people.
That is a how you can peel back that "dream job" you had and still use those itch to fulfill your responsibility in the world.
