Four Ways to Get Healthy in 2017 Without Breaking the Bank

Have you ever thought, "This is my year! This year I will ____ no matter what!" 

And a few months later, the New Year honeymoon stage wears off and you are stuck in your same ol' routine and same ol' bad habits. It's kind of paralyzing, isn't it?? Girl, I am so sorry. I've been trapped in that twilight zone before and it's taken me years to finally find something that keeps me motivated and accountable. 

I am not here to GUILT you into thinking you have a bad life. Bad health. Bad waistline. Bad habits. 

I am here to GIFT you a solution that can simplify your goals to live healthier. Because I 100% believe that health & fitness is a catalyst for real life change. In order to reach your fullest potential, you must have a clear mind, a motivated spirit and a energized body. In the fitness groups I lead each month, we talk about how beauty starts from the INSIDE. As you increase your view of yourself & your purpose, that is the fuel you need get moving and treat your body with respect. 

Do you want 2017 to be your year? 

If you want something you've never had, you must do things you've never done. 

Here are 4 Ways to get healthy in 2017 without breaking the bank: 

  1. Choose the cheapest workout (that you will actually do!) 
Some financial gurus will tell you to skip the gym membership altogether. But this doesn't work for everyone. Some people need the motivation and exercise plan. 
If this is you, do some research. Some recent research I've done: 
1. Monthly gym membership can range from $15 - $150
2. Gym classes (like barre) can be $20/month
3. Yoga classes can start as low as $25/month
4. Cheap DVDs like $5 Richard Simmons form 1970s... just kidding. 

MY SUGGESTION: 
Since we do live in the 21st century, let's act like it. There is a virtual gym membership called Beachbody On Demand (BOD) that is LESS that $10/month. BOD includes programs like P90X, Insanity, 21-Day Fix... as well as thousands of workout video options.

2. Plan Your Meals 

On the go? Right, aren't we all! Do you eat fast-food on a regular basis? It's probably not just because you love double cheeseburgers but that you are starving and lack a healthy meal plan. 

Perhaps you eat at home most days and still lack the proper nutrients your body needs to make it through the week. A meal plan can save money by ensuring you actually use the groceries you buy (and you have food on hand when you're hungry). 

How to meal plan?

  • List weekly meals (your top 10-15 meals)
  • Write down recipes so you know what you need for each meal
  • Plan for the week (maybe a cute chalk board in the kitchen to write down "What's for dinner?"

Also, if you are like me and just want someone to tell you WHAT TO EAT (I lack creativity and don't naturally enjoy planning my every bite) - then SIMPLIFY your life and just follow a nutrition guide. You will learn about eating fresh, whole foods (on a budget), the right portions, eating at the right times of day, etc.

3.  Cut out the crap! 
This may sting a little because I am going to ask you to cut some bad habits. If you are on a tight budget and "can't afford healthy food," do you buy coffee at Starbucks a few times a week? Do you drink sodas? Vending machine snacks?
These $1-5 purchases on a daily basis (that provide no nutritional value whatsoever) are eating away your food budget. 
If you need a quick fix, why don't you actually fuel your body with nutritious/filling foods. It's a mindset shift, I get it. No one WANTS to chew on a carrot stick when they could crunch on chips. I hear ya. 
What if I told you that you could eat chocolate cookies every afternoon ALL-YEAR and LOST WEIGHT? I never took this serious either. Until 4 years ago when I started my online health & fitness career. I quickly realized that I will ONLY achieve as much as my mind can handle. If I want to be a millionaire one day, I have to act like a CEO of a million dollar business before it happens. If I wanted to be in the best shape of my life, I have to practice self-discipline 10x more than I currently am. If I want to get that raise, I must increase my value to the company.  Make sense right?

Then why do we think we can scrap by and think negatively? Or watch negative media? In order to GROW YOUR MIND ... you could read more. Listen to more audio books. Start your morning with a positive mindset. Listen to uplifting music. Meditate.

This FOR REAL has got me on the edge of my seat. It makes my job as a Beachbody Coach so easy when I can motivate people to take solid steps towards living a healthier lifestyle.

Beachbody is betting $2 million dollars that you and your customers will fall in love with getting healthy. During the Challenge period (January 9th - February 5th), Coaches and customers who meet the below requirements will win an equal share of a $2 million dollar pot seeded by Beachbody!
