Four Ways to Get Healthy in 2017 Without Breaking the Bank

Have you ever thought, "This is my year! This year I will ____ no matter what!" 

And a few months later, the New Year honeymoon stage wears off and you are stuck in your same ol' routine and same ol' bad habits. It's kind of paralyzing, isn't it?? Girl, I am so sorry. I've been trapped in that twilight zone before and it's taken me years to finally find something that keeps me motivated and accountable. 

I am not here to GUILT you into thinking you have a bad life. Bad health. Bad waistline. Bad habits. 

I am here to GIFT you a solution that can simplify your goals to live healthier. Because I 100% believe that health & fitness is a catalyst for real life change. In order to reach your fullest potential, you must have a clear mind, a motivated spirit and a energized body. In the fitness groups I lead each month, we talk about how beauty starts from the INSIDE. As you increase your view of yourself & your purpose, that is the fuel you need get moving and treat your body with respect. 

Do you want 2017 to be your year? 

If you want something you've never had, you must do things you've never done. 

Here are 4 Ways to get healthy in 2017 without breaking the bank: 

  1. Choose the cheapest workout (that you will actually do!) 
Some financial gurus will tell you to skip the gym membership altogether. But this doesn't work for everyone. Some people need the motivation and exercise plan. 
If this is you, do some research. Some recent research I've done: 
1. Monthly gym membership can range from $15 - $150
2. Gym classes (like barre) can be $20/month
3. Yoga classes can start as low as $25/month
4. Cheap DVDs like $5 Richard Simmons form 1970s... just kidding. 

MY SUGGESTION: 
Since we do live in the 21st century, let's act like it. There is a virtual gym membership called Beachbody On Demand (BOD) that is LESS that $10/month. BOD includes programs like P90X, Insanity, 21-Day Fix... as well as thousands of workout video options. 

BOD also includes customized nutrition guides for each workout program you select... it comes with workout class schedules.... cooking shows.... daily challenges.... free workout gear when you finish each program. 

It's pretty mind boggling. Any device. Anywhere. Any program. For $99 for 12 months. 


Need the support & accountability of a class to attend? That is included too. With BOD, you get a free fitness coach who hosts monthly fitness challenges with daily check-ins, prizes, additional support/tips, etc.

2. Plan Your Meals 

On the go? Right, aren't we all! Do you eat fast-food on a regular basis? It's probably not just because you love double cheeseburgers but that you are starving and lack a healthy meal plan. 

Perhaps you eat at home most days and still lack the proper nutrients your body needs to make it through the week. A meal plan can save money by ensuring you actually use the groceries you buy (and you have food on hand when you're hungry). 

How to meal plan?

  • List weekly meals (your top 10-15 meals)
  • Write down recipes so you know what you need for each meal
  • Plan for the week (maybe a cute chalk board in the kitchen to write down "What's for dinner?"

Also, if you are like me and just want someone to tell you WHAT TO EAT (I lack creativity and don't naturally enjoy planning my every bite) - then SIMPLIFY your life and just follow a nutrition guide. You will learn about eating fresh, whole foods (on a budget), the right portions, eating at the right times of day, etc. 
Follow Fixate on Beachbody On Demand for a quick live "How To" tutorial on how to shop, what to put in your pantry, video cooking tips for any occasion, etc. Don't make 2017 complicated. Be smart. Scroll to bottom of blog for link. 
3.  Cut out the crap! 
This may sting a little because I am going to ask you to cut some bad habits. If you are on a tight budget and "can't afford healthy food," do you buy coffee at Starbucks a few times a week? Do you drink sodas? Vending machine snacks?
These $1-5 purchases on a daily basis (that provide no nutritional value whatsoever) are eating away your food budget. 
If you need a quick fix, why don't you actually fuel your body with nutritious/filling foods. It's a mindset shift, I get it. No one WANTS to chew on a carrot stick when they could crunch on chips. I hear ya. 
What if I told you that you could eat chocolate cookies every afternoon ALL-YEAR and LOST WEIGHT? What if I told you that you could drink a strawberry milkshake that has more nutritional value than 7 salads? What if you could drink an iced coffee each morning that had immune system boosting, cellulite fighting, and hydrating powers?

I never took this serious either. Until 4 years ago when I started my online health & fitness career. I quickly realized that I will ONLY achieve as much as my mind can handle. If I want to be a millionaire one day, I have to act like a CEO of a million dollar business before it happens. If I wanted to be in the best shape of my life, I have to practice self-discipline 10x more than I currently am. If I want to get that raise, I must increase my value to the company.  Make sense right?

Then why do we think we can scrap by and think negatively? Or watch negative media? In order to GROW YOUR MIND ... you could read more. Listen to more audio books. Start your morning with a positive mindset. Listen to uplifting music. Meditate.

Do you need a New Year Fitness Challenge?

Beachbody is betting $2 million dollars that you and your customers will fall in love with getting healthy. During the Challenge period (January 9th - February 5th), Coaches and customers who meet the below requirements will win an equal share of a $2 million dollar pot seeded by Beachbody!

6 Reasons God Wants Us To Be Successful

I don't know about YOUR God, but MY God wants you to be successful.

He doesn't want you to be stuck in a rut or to settle for a mediocre life.

Perhaps this video will stir up a passion in you to be your best. I recently shared this with my team (#WeAreMoxie) to cast a vision that I feel we are all obligated to put our best foot forward in everything we do.



Ahem... ever heard of this...every time I want to throw away my big dreams or think I am not capable.. or if I want to be lazy... I think of this verse!



Here are 5 Reasons God Wants Us To Be Successful: 

1. God wants to bless you!

Psalm 35:27 says:
"Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favor my righteous cause... Let the Lord be magnified."

To be responsible with the gifts and talents God has given each of us, I know from His teachings that I need to be a good steward of those things. God wants us to pay our bills, feed our family, stay out of debt. But He is not a lottery.  And aligning my desires with His, He wants to bless me and my family in order to make Himself more known!


2. Jesus came to give you an ABUNDANT life... not just abundant luck.

John 10:10 says,
"The thief's purpose is to steal, kill & destroy. My purpose is to give you life and that you may have it more abundantly."

Does this mean God will make me rich? Once again.. God is not a lottery.

1 Peter 4:10 says,
"Each one should use whatever gifts he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms."

If you belief that, then identify your gifts, your passion, your strengths... and RUN WITH IT. I bet you will notice God's blessing upon you once you start performing with excellence.

3.  God will give more to those who are responsible with little.

Matthew 25:29 says,
"For to everyone who has been wise with their talents more will be given, and he will have an abundance. But from one who has not, even what he has will be taken away."

This is a tough lesson. But one you'd be lucky to absorb early on in your life. If you desire success, my question for you, are you doing what you need to do RIGHT NOW with what you've currently been given. Are you a good steward of your time? Or your money? Or your skills?

4.  God wants you honoring Him through your financial success.

Proverbs 3:9-10 says,
"Honor the Lord with your capital and sufficiency [from righteous labors] and with the firstfruits of all your income; so shall your storage places be filled with plenty, and your vats be overflowing with new wine."

I just love this. When we are successful, will we accept all credit? Or will be surface level thank God but know it was your blood, sweat & tears that accomplished big things. I encourage you to evaluate how you got your relentless passion & skills & drive & opportunity in the first place.

This quote is a great fit:

"When you drink the water, don't forget who dug the well."

5.  God wants you to be a consistent tither and giver.

Malachi 3:10 says,
"Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do," says the Lord, "I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won't have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!"

With the wealth that you may accumulate, be wise. Give back to whom gave it to you. This is a hard discipline but when God says, "Try it! Put me to the test!" -- I'd believe him!

6. God wants you to have BIG influence.

Deutermonomy 28:10-13 says,
"And all people of the earth shall see that you are called by my name..."

How powerful will it be if all the great leaders in our country professed their faith in Jesus Christ? We know that God's will is for everyone to hear of his mercy & forgiveness... why not use the platform we have as a leader to honor Him!

An important token I want to leave you with,

He will bless the work of our hands. However, he can't bless what we aren't doing.

How 57 women just earned MONEY for working out!

And that's a wrap!!

In September, I hosted a Challenge Group called the Health Bet Challenge. I rallied several dozen women together to set health & fitness goals + commit to a work out program + commit to drinking superfoods each day = and if they complete the challenge, they split a giant pot a moolah.

That $$ total was $1,634,950.

And guess what??

100,273 amazing-dedicated-people completed this challenge!!

Therefore, we each earned $16.31 !!

Now, will that send you on a vacation to Bora Bora?? No ... but I will tell you want, being a part of the Health Bet Challenge gave us what MONEY CAN'T BUY!!

Top 12 Coach Retreat: INSIDE LOOK!



We are rounding the 3rd week of the POST RETREAT mourning.

I joke. But what a fabulous time we had. Last month, I invited 12 coaches from Moxie (our coach team) to join me at a 3-story pink beach house in Indian Rocks Beach, FL.

Interesting how things unfolded... hear me out...


I used to be a professional event planner. My Corporate America big girl job (prior to becoming an online health & fitness coach) was being a Marketing Director of a publicly traded company. My main role was to run a million dollar budget and organize, coordinate, manage 26+ national events a year.

It was intense. The stress level caused me to cry myself to sleep too many embarrassing nights to admit. I developed heart palpitations. Adult acne. And I was even one of those weirdos who got Swine Flu (circa 2009).  The worst part though was leaving my newborn baby with a nanny and having to secretly pump in dark closets at work between meetings.

Glam life, right?

I digress... this blog is about my TOP 12 BEACH RETREAT.... let's go back there...

Even though I decided to retire from my event planning days, you can take the girl out of her events but you can't take the events out of the girl. I love people. I love the experience of gathering like-minded people together. It's unique. The synergy cannot be fabricated. I've developed deeper bonds with women on my team from these quick weekend retreats than I would have if we had just chatted online for years.

I love the awkward first few hours where the girls don't know each other. I love watching them open up. Share. Laugh. Drink wine. Feel safe. Loosen up. Be free.

There is only SO much you can do to virtually connect. And running an online business with a team of over 1,000 online entrepreneurs to mentor... I gotta get creative.

INTERLUDE: Laugh at me if you'd like. But legit, my heart is pounding right now as I type because I am reliving how much I love connecting people to a community. And our Beachbody Coach team is indeed that... a big ol' warm fun encouraging community. 


I invited the the TOP 12 Coaches to our retreat. Due to ... life... 6 were unable to make it and graciously gave up their spots to 6 other lucky Moxies would have the chance to attend this life changing weekend. How it panned out was beyond me. Way better than anything I could have orchestrated. I don't believe in coincidences.



I handpicked 4 honorary guests who have proven their determination & I saw a spark in them. And the remaining 2 spots, we ran a People's Choice Award vote. All coaches on our team had a chance to nominate coaches who have inspired them and deserved to have a weekend giveaway.
